Molecular Diagnosis of Celiac Disease (CD) by HLA-DQB1 typing

Celiac disease (CD) is a chronic intestinal inflammation resulting in villous atrophy and flattening of the mucosa. It is a common T cell-medicated disease caused by dietary gluten. The Celiac disease is associated with human leukocyte antigen HLA-DQB1*0200 and/or HLA-DQB1*0302 alleles. Approximately , 97% of CD patients have at least one of the risk alleles of HLA-DQB1*0200/or HLA-DQB1*0302 in Iranian population.
